Green Tourism at The Coach House

We are trying hard to reduce waste and pollution, and save energy These are a few of the improvements already made:

Cleaning is done with phosphate and chlorine free detergents, and other environmentally friendly products.

Hot water is circulated by a pumped system and heated in an energy efficient condensing boiler. Radiators have thermostats.

Where appropriate, low energy light bulbs are used.

Paper, card, plastic and glass waste is recycled

Where possible, breakfast ingredients have been sourced from local producers, supporting the shops in Woodbridge town centre, Woodbridge Farmers’ Market and the community. Food miles are very low: pork sausages and bacon - 19 miles; milk - 24 miles; free range eggs - 14 miles; bread - 1 mile; apple juice - 12 miles; preserves - zero miles.

Tea, coffee, chocolate and sugar are all Fair Trade products. Woodbridge is a Fairtrade town.

Water butts collect rain water from the roof to water the garden and wildlife is encouraged.

So many ways of doing things that are simple to put in place and don’t cost the Earth . . . . .
